How to Use The Neti Pot for Jala Neti

Beginners can use a neti pot filled with lukewarm water and a small pinch of salt.  Lukewarm water and a little bit of salt help beginners manage the process better.  After you are more comfortable with the process you can simply use tap water.

Stand over a sink and insert the nozzle of the neti pot into the right nostril.  Make sure that your mouth is slightly open.  Tilt your head to the left, and slowly allow the water through the right nostril and the nasal passages.  The water will come out through the left nostril and flow into the sink. Repeat the same process for the left nostril.

It is best to perform kapalabhati kriya breathing technique exercise to blow out the remaining water from the nostrils.  Clean and rinse the neti pot with boiled water and dry it before the next use.

Practising jala neti regularly can help sooth dry nasal passages, relieves breathing disorders, clear dust and excess mucus.  This practise promotes easy breathing and clear and focus body and mind.
