We are made up of accumulative activities of our physical, emotional, mental and energetic body.  In order to lead a healthy and happy life, we must first ensure that this current body and mind is well taken care of.

Eating, sleeping and carrying out healthy activities help us keep our body and mind healthy.  But, what is healthy eating. We eat in order to get energy, but these days, so many of us tend to overeat. Overeating and eating unhealthy food is pretty detrimental long term.

We are born in a time when we are privileged with abundant of food and food choices.  Part of our worries in today’s world about what to eat and how to eat to maintain a nice healthy body.  Many a times, eating has become part of our social life. 

We eat and enjoy food whenever we have family meals or social gatherings with relatives and friends.  But, how is eating and overeating affected our health?

Many of us have forgotten how it feels to have empty stomach as we are usually fed or snack all the time. 

Hence, it is good for us to do intermittent fasting to ensure that we keep charge of the food consumption in our body. 

At the same time, it is important to prevent our digestive systems from being overloaded.  Intermittent fasting allows us to slow down in our food consumption and give our digestive systems the breaks that it badly needs. 

Eating Right

Our body needs the right balance of food in order to stay healthy. In fact, we do not need such excessive food to get healthy. The lesser food we consume, the lesser processing the body needs to work to process them into energy, and the better we would feel.

It is important to consume a healthy and balanced amount of nutrients, minerals, protein, carbohydrates and fats.

Consuming fruits and vegetables provide our body with the fiber, minerals, nutrients and water. Small amount of protein and carbohydrates like soybeans, potatoes, nuts, fish and meat is good for our diet. It is highly recommended that we do not mix artificial sweet drinks when taking our meals, as it will take longer for our digestive systems to process the food.

Processed food is not at all encouraged if we plan to eat healthy. This is because the body will require longer process time to digest these processed food in our body.

When we eat healthy, we can feel our body feels lighter and we feel more energetic too.

Intermittent Fasting 18/6

It is ideal to fast for at least 18 hours in a day to kick start our intermittent fasting.  The best ideal time for the eating window is usually 11 am to 5pm.  After the last meal for the day at 5pm, it is good for one to fast and only on water diet till the next morning, at or after 11am.  The longer one fast, the longer our digestive systems can rest and repair itself.

Autophagy Fasting 24-48 Hours

Autophagy comes from the Latin word that means self-eating.  When you fast for 24-48 hours, you can activate autophagy.  Autophagy is a natural process where the damaged cells are removed and repaired.  Autophagy helps keep cells healthy. 

Fasting 24-48 hours reqularly can help you remove unhealthy cells in the body and protect you from disease.  There are cases where people with diseases like diabetes, high cholesterol, cardiac conditions, cancer were able to recover from the condition after intermittent and autophagy fasting.   

Foods that contain polyphenols like green tea, red wine, nuts, onions, apples, berries, turmeric, soybeans can help promote autophagy. 

Healthy fasting for enhanced health

Intermittent fasting helps us reduce the time and amount we consume food. Intermittent fasting with one or two days of autophagy in a month can help our body rejuvenate its body cells, removing any damaged cells. This will in turn help us maintain healthy and young.
